R. Kevin Quinn, OD
Dr. R. Kevin Quinn is a Certified Optometric Physician and a native Floridian. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Eastern Kentucky University and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Ohio State University College of Optometry. In 1995, Dr. Quinn returned to Florida where he has practiced optometry and cheered for the Gators ever since.
In 2006, Dr. Quinn established the private practice of Quinn Eye Center with the goal of providing the highest quality eye care using the most advanced diagnostic technology currently available. In his free time, Dr. Quinn and his family support the University of Florida and all of their athletic programs. Dr. Quinn also enjoys biking and travel, but most of all, spending time with his wife and twin children.
Candace B. Suggs, O.D.
Candace Suggs is a North Central Florida native and alumna of the University of Florida. After completing her undergraduate degree, she went on to graduate magna cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry. Following her departure from Texas, she became reunited with Quinn Eye Center in 2017 where she had previously worked as an Optometric Technician and Receptionist. Dr. Suggs is eager to get to know her patients in order to personalize her optical, nutritional, and medical recommendations to fit their unique visual needs. Clinically, she has developed a passion for managing corneal and ocular surface disease and is one of Gainesville’s only physicians specializing in the fitting of scleral contact lenses for the treatment of keratoconus and other eye diseases. Dr. Suggs also has a working knowledge of Spanish and is able to conduct an eye exam in Spanish if preferred by her patients. Her passions include faith, family, food, and football. When she is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her loving husband Chris and their rescue dog Nugget.
Shruti Desai, O.D.
Shruti Desai began her career in Optometry as an Optometric Technician for Quinn Eye Center in 2013, where her commitment to excellent patient care and leadership skills quickly made her a stand-out star and go-to resource for both doctors and staff. After graduating from the University of Florida, she went on to attend Salus University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry where she continued to excel and earn her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2018. Upon graduation, Dr. Desai joined the The Eye Institute of Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry as a Primary Care and Ocular Disease Resident Optometrist and soon after began her foray into private practice Optometry. In the Fall of 2020, Dr. Desai returned home to Gainesville to rejoin Quinn Eye Center as an Optometric Physician. Her friendly and approachable disposition coupled with her experience specializing in ocular disease management make her the perfect patient advocate for your eye health. Shruti is also proficient in the Hindi and Gujarati languages. In addition to rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles, Shruti enjoys… coffee, reading and music in her free time.
Diane spent the first two decades of her career as a Human Resources executive in the corporate arena. As the practice continued to grow, Diane joined Quinn Eye Center in 2010 as Practice Manager with the responsibility for business strategy, financial management and daily operations. With a Master’s Degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology, Diane draws upon on her educational and corporate experience to ensure the optimum patient experience for those that trust us with their eye care needs. In her spare time, Diane enjoys embarking upon renovation projects, reading, movies, and travel, but above all, spending time with her family.
Patient Services Supervisor
Debbie began her career in the Optometry industry in 2001 after spending 20 years in the broadcasting industry. She joined Quinn Eye Center in 2011 as a patient Care Coordinator and was promoted to Patient Services Supervisor in 2014. Her primary responsibility and greatest joy is providing excellent service to the patients who visit us for their eye care needs. Debbie excels at making each and every patient feel like family and her warmth and laughter keep everyone entertained. In addition to her role as Patient Services Supervisor, Debbie also assists in the Optical Department helping patients discover the perfect frames for their lifestyle. In her spare time, Debbie enjoys quilting, reading and spending time with her family and husband TJ.
Jose earned an Optical Sciences Degree from Puerto Rico Technical College in 1999 and soon after became a Licensed Optician in Puerto Rico prior to embarking upon a successful 20+ year optical career. After several years of discussions, Dr. Quinn successfully enticed Jose to relocate his family to Gainesville from Central Florida to join Quinn Eye Center as the Optical Manager, where he has served since January 2020. Jose has brought extensive knowledge in both optical sales and optical lab management and is proficient in all aspects of eyeglass fabrication, fitting and repairs; however, he most enjoys working with patients and assisting them in selecting the perfect eyewear to suit their lifestyle and preferences. He brings endless energy, enthusiasm and patience to his daily patient interactions and has been instrumental in ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction in the Optical Department. Jose lives in Gainesville with his wife and two young children and enjoys paintball, mountain biking and fishing in his free time.
Meagan is a Florida native and a graduate of Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in 2011. Her passion for optometry began in earnest as she pursued her pre-optometry studies. After spending several years in corporate practices working as both an as an Apprentice Optician and Optical Manager, Meagan joined Quinn Eye Center in 2018. While she wears many hats in the office, she spends most her her time serving as Dr. Quinn’s medical scribe, where she is gaining valuable knowledge and experience in preparation for studies at Pacific College of Optometry, which she will attend in the Fall of 2021. After earning her Optometry degree, Meagan plans on specializing in low vision and ocular disease. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking and pursuing all things art.
