R. Kevin Quinn, OD
Dr. R. Kevin Quinn is a Certified Optometric Physician and a native Floridian. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Eastern Kentucky University and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Ohio State University College of Optometry. In 1995, Dr. Quinn returned to Florida where he has practiced optometry and cheered for the Gators ever since.
In 2006, Dr. Quinn established the private practice of Quinn Eye Center with the goal of providing the highest quality eye care using the most advanced diagnostic technology currently available. In his free time, Dr. Quinn and his family support the University of Florida and all of their athletic programs. Dr. Quinn also enjoys biking and travel, but most of all, spending time with his wife and twin children.
Candace B. Suggs, O.D.
Candace Suggs is a North Central Florida native and alumna of the University of Florida. After completing her undergraduate degree, she went on to graduate magna cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry. She became reunited with Quinn Eye Center in 2017 where she had previously worked as an optometric technician and receptionist. Dr. Suggs has developed a passion for managing corneal and dry eye disease. She is one of Gainesville’s only optometric physicians currently utilizing scleral lens technology for the management of keratoconus and other corneal abnormalities. Additionally, she is adding to her pediatric patient care by implementing FDA approved myopia control strategies. These treatments aim to not only compensate for a child’s current nearsightedness (myopia), but also have been shown in studies to slow or stop the progression of the disease. Dr. Suggs also has a working knowledge of Spanish and is able to conduct an eye exam in Spanish if preferred by her patients. Her passions include Gator sports, lifting weights and being outdoors. When she is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her sweet husband Chris and their rescue dog Nugget.
Shruti Desai, O.D.
Shruti Desai began her career in Optometry as an Optometric Technician for Quinn Eye Center in 2013, where her commitment to excellent patient care and leadership skills quickly made her a stand-out star and go-to resource for both doctors and staff. After graduating from the University of Florida, she went on to attend Salus University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry where she continued to excel and earn her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2018. Upon graduation, Dr. Desai joined the The Eye Institute of Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry as a Primary Care and Ocular Disease Resident Optometrist and soon after began her foray into private practice Optometry. In the Fall of 2020, Dr. Desai returned home to Gainesville to rejoin Quinn Eye Center as an Optometric Physician. Her friendly and approachable disposition coupled with her experience specializing in ocular disease management make her the perfect patient advocate for your eye health. Shruti is also proficient in the Hindi and Gujarati languages. In addition to rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles, Shruti enjoys… coffee, reading and music in her free time.
